Good BBQ places have slowly started to grow in number around the isle, but one tiny spot that offers up a little twist on that realm is Biscuits & Barbeque (their spelling). Last night was my second trip here and they delivered pretty well in giving me some que-love.
Well, it should be known that the BBQ found in this tiny dining car nestled along 2nd St comes from Louisiana roots. So when checking out the menu, there's an abundance of Cajun/creole concoctions with some BBQ favorites mixed in.
Oh man, don’t even get us started here. We crave the food daily. It’s one of our favorite things to eat in Mineola, and you should be trying something new as often as possible. Get the Fried Okra, Dixie Southern Fried Chicken, Jambalaya Mac & Cheese, Shrimp & Grits, and the Bourbon Pecan pie. Thank us later.

A funny looking diner car in the middle of the industrial area of Mineola. Coming down Roslyn road and turning onto 2nd street you would not think a delicious Cajun/Creole/BBQ joint would be on this block, but it is. The food is awesome - plain and simple. The problem is its real small, super expensive and cash only. If you read our other takes, you would know by now we hate cash only joints. My favorite is when they write out the tax on the check - knowing I just got taken to the wood shed for some Shrimp & Gritz they bend you over for the tax. I call this Idiot tax cause you know for a fact they are not reporting any of it or at least the majority of it. The food is still awesome especially if you have the urge for some Ribs, Cheese Gritz, Brisket and Pecan Pie. In all seriousness the cash part only bothers me when I have to run out to the ATM. I would recommend bringing a nice bottle of something (BYOB) and hand them your wallet as soon as you sit down and pick it up on your way out.
