[tweetmeme]Prefab Sprout’s Paddy McAloon is back with a timely new song called “America” that implores the United States to “do what’s right” when it comes to immigrants: “Don’t reject that stranger knocking at your door,” McAloon sings, “The orphan child exiled by war. She may become a doctor and work among the poor. A scientist who finds a cure.”
The solo-acoustic song, brought to our attention by This is Not Retro, was posted to YouTube on Friday by McAloon’s manager, Keith Armstrong, just days before President Donald Trump signed his revised order once again limiting immigration into the U.S. from certain Muslim-majority countries.
