[tweetmeme]Cocteau Twins guitarist Robin Guthrie and Ride frontman Mark Gardener have completed their long-in-the-works album together — a collaboration they debuted with their 2012 single “The Places We Go” — and will release the record worldwide this September, Gardener announced this week via his recording studio’s Facebook page.
No title or tracklist have been revealed for the project, and Gardener did not offer further details. In an undated post on his website — which doesn’t appear to have been updated since last October — Guthrie writes, “The album that I’m recording with Mark Gardener seems to be going rather well. 10 songs so far. Just waiting for mark to get free from his busy schedule to come over and finish it.”
While Guthrie, who also has an album with Harold Budd due this year, performed with Gardener in Europe last spring, no touring arrangements for the new project have been revealed. In his own Facebook update, Gardener says he’ll play the Desert Stars Festival in Pioneertown, Calif., this September “with more West Coast shows to be confirmed soon.”
