[tweetmeme]Echo & The Bunnymen will return to the U.S. this summer, with the band this week announcing what it termed a “tour of America” that consists of four shows in California this August. It is not clear, via the band’s announcement on Facebook or elsewhere, whether the Bunnymen plan to add more dates to the trek.

In the Facebook comments, the band says, “We’ll be coming back in September.”The shows open Aug. 6 in San Diego and include dates at the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa with Berlin, plus shows in Sacramento and Santa Cruz (see details below). Tickets go on sale Friday.
The band played a 14-date North American tour last summer in support of 2014 album Meteorites.
