[tweetmeme]The ’80s-themed Retro Futura package tour returns this summer for a 24-date U.S. run in July and August with a bill headlined by synthpop legend Howard Jones that also features The English Beat, Men Without Hats, Modern English and Katrina of Katrina and the Waves — plus appearances by Paul Young and Bow Wow Wow’s Annabella Lwin.
The tour opens July 18 in Los Angeles with the first of four California shows, then heads to the south, midwest and East Coast before wrapping up Aug. 19 in Charles, Mo. (see full dates below). Young will miss five of the concerts, at which he’ll be replaced by Lwin.
UPDATE:
We’ve added an Aug. 4 date in Detroit that wasn’t on the original schedule posted to the tour’s website, as well as a TBA tour stop on July 26. According to the tour’s Facebook page, organizers are working on a “Texas possibility” for that last show that’s to be added. The 2014 edition of the Retro Futura tour, formerly the Regeneration Tour, featured Jones and Katrina, along with Midge Ure, the Thompson Twins’ Tom Bailey and China Crisis.
