[tweetmeme]Morrissey tonight announced that he will return to the U.S. this June and July to continue promoting his withdrawn album World Peace Is None of Your Business with a new 18-date tour of theaters, arenas and amphitheaters, a trek that includes a stop at Madison Square Garden in New York City that will be opened by New Wave legends Blondie.
The trek, which follows five sold-out shows at the Sydney Opera House, opens June 11 in New Orleans, and includes a previously announced festival date in Delaware as well as stops at renowned venues including the Grand Ole Opry and Red Rocks Amphitheatre. The tour wraps up July 25 in San Jose, Calif.
The tour announcement comes amid rumors that World Peace Is None of Your Business will be re-released, along with a new studio album.
