[tweetmeme]Reunited shoegazers Ride have followed up the release of their first new music in more than two decades with plans to perform a “select run” of North American dates in July, a five-concert trek that sees the band playing Toronto, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C.
Tickets for those shows go on sale at 10 a.m. local time Friday.
Although Ride hasn’t formally announced its new album, the band did debut two new tracks — “Charm Assault” and “Home is a Feeling,” both produced by Erol Alkan and mixed by Alan Moulder — last week.
Ride — Andy Bell, Mark Gardener, Laurence “Loz” Colbert and Steve Queralt — announced plans to reunite in late 2014, then toured the U.S. and Europe in 2015. Late last year, the band announced it would record a follow-up to 1996’s Tarantula and release it this coming summer.
