[tweetmeme]It’s been a busy few months for David J: The former Bauhaus and Love and Rockets bassist recorded a creepy new version of “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” and is putting together a new fan-funded album called An Eclipse of Ships. Add to that a new role as bassist and producer for the band Stellarum, with which he’s just recorded a slow-burning cover of Blondie’s “Heart of Glass.”
The bassist writes on Facebook that he initially “came on board as producer on this project and ended up joining the band! Very glad to be a part of something so special.”
The group also features Joseph Seuferling (Telek Degenerac, JZAR), Marc Tweed (The Family Curse, The Hearers) and Susan Dumett (Vox Vespertinus, Luminosas), and, in addition to releasing the Blondie cover, says a full album of original material is “coming soon.”
