[tweetmeme]With Echo & The Bunnymen’s 11th studio album Meteorites set for release in Europe one week from today, the band this morning began streaming the record — which frontman Ian McCulloch, in typical hyperbolic form, calls ”more edgy than anything I’ve ever done” — in full via both The Guardian in the U.K. and VPRO in the Netherlands.
We’ve got the VPRO stream below for your listening pleasure.
The album will be released in the U.S. a week later, on June 3, perhaps in some kind of nostalgic throwback to the pre-digital age when such staggered releases were more customary.
The Bunnymen are set to tour both the U.K. and U.S. in support of the new album, although the U.K. dates were just pushed back as McCulloch recovers from a throat infection. Check out the band’s full tour dates.
