[tweetmeme]The Jesus and Mary Chain have announced the first of hopefully many U.S. performances of their classic 1985 noise-pop debut Psychocandy in the form of an appearance next May at the Austin Psych Fest’s three-day Levitation festival. JAMC will play the album in full on a bill that also features The Flaming Lips, Spiritualized and Primal Scream.
The U.S. appearance, sometime during the May 8-10 weekend, follows a handful of U.K. dates last month plus a newly announced nine-date U.K. run in February. The band previously has promised “2015 will see a year of activity for the 30th anniversary of Psychocandy.”
Tickets for the Austin, Texas, festival are available now.
