[tweetmeme]The Psychedelic Furs will head back out on the road in the U.S. next month for a just-announced, 13-date trek that will feature Robyn Hitchcock — who covered the Furs’ 1984 classic “The Ghost in You” on his recent The Man Upstairs album — opening most of the shows.
The tour opens March 29 in Austin, Texas, and includes four shows in that state, plus a number of midwestern dates followed by concerts in Millvale, Penn., and Buffalo, N.Y., in mid-April Hitchcock, whose new self-titled album comes out at the end of April, will open all but the Milwaukee show.
37 years after opening for @pfurs in the Soft Boys, I get to do so again solo. Time has coated them with a deeper cool. Dates HERE: https://t.co/6Z6rLogK5d

Hitchcock is the latest of the Psychedelic Furs’ contemporaries to join Richard Butler and Co. on the road; in recent years, the band has played with The Church, The Go-Gos, The B-52s and The Lemonheads.
Following the spring dates, the Furs also will play an ’80s Weekend concert in Los Angeles in June, joined by OMD, Colin Hay, The Fixx, Berlin and Belinda Carlisle.
