[tweetmeme]To coincide with their first headlining tour in 24 years, The Replacements next month will release an 8-disc box set that collects the band’s seven studio albums and one EP released between 1981 and 1990, an announcement made today via a Rhino Records press release that had been copy edited by the band itself.
Due out April 14 and list-priced at $54.98, The Complete Studio Albums 1981-1990 will include Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash (1981), Stink (1982), Hootenanny (1983), Let It Be (1984), Tim (1985), Pleased to Meet Me (1987), Don’t Tell a Soul (1989) and All Shook Down (1990).
The set includes the remastered audio from the 2008 Rhino reissues, but not the bonus material.
The reunited ‘Mats — Paul Westerberg and Tommy Stinson, plus guitarist David Minehan and drummer Josh Freese — will open their 14-date, mostly sold-out North American tour April 9 in Seattle.
