[tweetmeme]Like Mission of Burma, Scottish indie-pop faves The Vaselines are on their way to becoming more prolific post-reunion than in their original incarnation, this week announcing their second post-reunion album, and only their third overall, called V for Vaselines, a 10-track collection that is due to be released this fall and is preceded by first single “One Lost Year.”
The record, due out Sept. 29, can be pre-ordered in a number of formats, including CD with an unspecified bonus disc, limited-edition red vinyl and even a limited cassette pressing.
The Vaselines — featuring founders Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee — reunited in 2008, playing their first-ever U.S. concerts. The following year, Sub Pop Records released Enter the Vaselines, an expanded reissue of the 1992 comp The Way of the Vaselines that features the band’s two EPs (Son of a Gun and Dying for It) and, at the time, only full album (1989′s Dum-Dum), plus a second disc of demos, unreleased tracks and live cuts recorded in the U.K. 1986 and 1988.
Then, in 2010, the band released Sex With An X, their follow-up to Dum-Dum.
